The DePuy ASR™ Hip Resurfacing System was only approved for use outside the U.S. and the ASR™ XL Acetabular System was available worldwide.If you had your surgery after July 2003 the implant that you received may be subject to recall. During the first five years after the surgery was made, the signs and symptoms start to occur. As a patient recovering after revision surgery I can tell you that it is not pleasant that I had to go through this again. The pain was unbearable and my implant needed to be replaced.
