There is one common question that some many people are asking these days, and that is “why did I stop losing weight?” Many people feel that they work very hard in their journey to lose their excess weight, and many of them come to the same conclusion – they simply stop seeing results.

If you look at how the body works, you will notice that when you eat you actually lose weight. Perhaps when you started out, you started eating a lot less. This is fine if you are overweight, because you needed to burn more calories than you consume.

As you get thinner though, your body relies more and more on calories you consume. This is where people go wrong. They continue to eat salads and hardly any meals, but this is actually slowing the progress. With a tiny bit of excess fat, the body starts to saves any other calories that you consume and therefore your metabolism slows down.

You will then have to make sure that you do not lose fat too quickly, because if you do, you will only put that fat back on in a few months, or you will stop seeing results and you will have to reset.

Another reason that you might not have noticed any further weight loss is if you are doing weight training. Muscle weighs more than fat, so if you are lifting weights, or even just doing light weights to tone your muscles you could be just compensating the fat loss for the muscle gain according to a scale.

Cardio is very important when you are trying to get rid of fat. You must understand that weight training alone does not burn a ton of fat. You need to heat up your body, you need to use energy, and the only way you can do this is if you do your cardio for at least 30 minutes a day 4 – 5 days a week.
